PRACTICING LAW IN
ALASKA SINCE 1982
Richard Harren began his Law Practice in Wasilla with another career under his belt as a public accountant. His attention to detail and critical thinking skills were honed as a CPA for several years before shifting his career towards the Law.
The second oldest in a family of ten children, Harren left home in Northern Minnesota on July 4th 1976, after graduation from Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. He earned his CPA in 1979, before returning to school to study Law at the University of North Dakota.
After finishing there, Harren began practicing general law in Wasilla, Alaska, in 1982 - including criminal law, property law, injury (tort) law, family law, contract and business law, and also insurance and workers’ compensation law. Specializing in tort law, Harren has also proffered pro bono legal counsel to disadvantaged Alaskans.
In his private life, Harren is a father of five, two girls and three boys, and has three grandchildren. He lives in Wasilla with his wife, Suzanne, in their recently empty nest.
Harren has served as President of United Way, coached hockey for twenty years, and directed a summer diversity camp for Wasilla Outdoor Youth Hockey Association, all the while enjoying the Alaskan outdoors.
